Treatment
The following treatment services are provided:
1) Cognitive rehabilitation therapy is helpful in assisting
cognitive difficulties and can involve instruction, education,
retraining and focused cognitive strategies with individuals,
families and other health care providers. This typically involves a
few 1-hour sessions.
2) Psycho-education regarding brain injuries and cognitive
difficulties. Information, strategies and recommendations are
provided to individuals and their families. This typically involves
one or two 1-hour sessions.
3) Focused treatment for anxiety, depression and posttraumatic
stress disorder (PTSD). This typically involves multiple and
frequent one-on-one sessions. If individuals meet the necessary
criteria, these sessions can be partially funded through the Mental
Health Care Plan (MHCP). This can be arranged through your GP.
